Kirkland firefighters responded to a house fire Wednesday evening in the Finn Hill neighborhood.

Three fire engines, three ladder trucks and one medic arrived at 9242 N.E. 135th Street at 5:34 p.m.

Investigators say the fire appeared to have started by cigarette butts on the deck. The fire then spread from the deck to the attic, causing an estimated $45,000 in damages, according to Battalion Chief Mike Haschak.

He says it took 15 minutes for the crews to contain the fire. No one was injured.
