Kirkland Fire Department investigates unoccupied house-fire

A fire broke out in an unoccupied Kingsgate home late last night before firefighters quickly put it out.

Firefighters from Kirkland, Woodinville and Redmond responded to a call about a residential structure fire at 11:39 p.m. last night. Firefighters were able knock the fire down within 20 to 30 minutes.

According to Kirkland Fire Department Battalion Chief, Mike Dettmer, the house was unoccupied because it was under renovation. Firefighters searched the home and found that several rooms were unfurnished.

The cause of the fire is unknown, but the Kirkland Fire Department is currently investigating.
