Bliesner and Wilkins likely to advance to general election

As of Tuesday evening 26,692 ballots were returned out of 114,894 registered voters for the school board race.

King County Elections released preliminary primary election results Aug. 6.

In the Lake Washington School District school board race for director Pos. 5, incumbent Siri Bliesner gathered 63.89 percent of the vote, or 14,766 votes. John Towers gathered 13.07 percent of the vote, or 3,022 votes. Susan Wilkins gathered 22.43 percent of the vote, or 5,185 votes, according to preliminary results.

Bliesner and Wilkins will likely advance to the general election.

As of Tuesday evening 26,692 ballots were returned out of 114,894 registered voters for the school board race.

Ballots were due to King County by 8 p.m. Tuesday. Early election results began at 8:30 p.m. Final results will be certified Aug. 20.
