The Lake Washington School District (LWSD) will start two-hours late today, Tuesday, Jan. 10, due to icy road conditions.

The notice was posted on the district website and applies to all schools in the LWSD, including those in Kirkland.

The LWSD has also cancelled all preschool services, Quest pull-out, before school music, before school extended day care, and out-of-district transportation.

Lake Washington Institute of Technology officials have also announced that the Early Learning Center will open late, at 10 a.m.

The LWSD is just one of many districts in the Puget Sound region to delay or cancel school today due to weather conditions, including the Bellevue, Mercer Island, Snohomish and Island school districts, and Bellevue Christian School and Renton Christian School.

The Kirkland Seventh-day Adventist school will also start two-hours late.
