Aegis seeks community involvement to provide Christmas dinners to Kirkland families in need

Aegis Lodge started helping some of the local families in need by donating Thanksgiving meals during November. The assisted living community now has a request for 29 families to receive a Christmas dinner. The families have students at Sandburg, Frost and Helen Keller Elementary Schools in Kirkland.

“We helped seven families who showed tremendous gratitude to us and our senior residents were very excited to not only help put together the baskets but also to help deliver them,” said Aegis spokesperson Sandra Cook about the Thanksgiving event.

The company is now hoping to get some members of the community to donate either a full meal or to donate a full basket.

The meal can be home cooked or ordered through QFC for $50. The basket consists of ham, potatoes, green beans or corn, dinner rolls, eggnog, cider and  pie.
