Kirkland man throws pregnant girlfriend against wall, tells police he's 'victim' | Kirkland Police Blotter

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 800 per week.
Between July 21-28, the Kirkland Police Department reported 460 traffic violations (nine DUIs), 39 traffic accidents, 34 noise complaints, 14 thefts, 14 domestic violence calls, 20 alarm calls, seven motor vehicle prowls, two motor vehicle thefts, seven cases of hit and run, five cases of reckless driving, three burglaries, 15 disturbances, five cases of fraud, eight harassment calls, four malicious mischief cases, four assaults and six animal control calls. At least 54 people were arrested.
Theft: 10:42 a.m., 4600 Carillon Point. A woman reported that someone stole her $400 pair of shoes and a $100 cosmetic bag from her unsecured locker. Investigation is ongoing.
Suspicious event: 1:49 a.m., 1100 block of Northeast 95th Street. The reporting party said he saw exterior lights flashing off and on at a nearby residence. He thought it could possibly be an alarm and was unsure if the neighbors were home. Upon contact, the neighbor said she was aware of the issue and was having problems with her alarm.
Domestic violence: 1:38 a.m., 500 block of Kirkland Avenue. A 37-year-old boyfriend was arrested for fourth degree assault after he threw his 29-year-old seven month pregnant girlfriend against a wall of their apartment and threatened to smash her face in. The boyfriend stated that he had been drinking all night, admitting to consuming eight drinks. However, he said that he was the victim because his girlfriend is crazy because she is pregnant. The man was booked into the Kirkland Jail.
Warrant arrest: 3:40 p.m., 12500 block of Northeast 80th Street. A 24-year-old Kirkland woman was stopped for a traffic violation and arrested on her warrant out of Mountlake Terrace. She was transported to the Kirkland Police Department.
Reckless driving: 3:20 p.m. Reporting party said a silver Nissan truck just exited northbound I-405 onto Totem Lake Boulevard, going 100 miles per hour. He said the reckless driver was heading westbound on Northeast 132nd.
Warrant arrest: 1:15 p.m., 3800 block of 108th Ave. N.E. A 23-year-old Kirkland man was arrested by the Bellevue Police Department for a Kirkland warrant.
Warrant arrest: 2:10 a.m., 12000 block of 100th Ave. N.E. A 22-year-old Kirkland returned home to the Esplanade Apartments with his son and discovered his step-father was asleep inside and he was locked out. The neighbors called the police as the man was knocking loudly on the front door. On arrival, the man was found to have an outstanding misdemeanor warrant out of the King County Sheriff's Office for domestic violence. His step-father woke up when police arrived and the 22-year-old man was arrested. He was transported to King County Jail.
Order violation: 12:45 p.m., 11900 block of Northeast 128th Street. A 22-year-old Kirkland man was arrested for violating a no-contact order after he was found in the passenger seat of a vehicle stopped on a traffic violation.
Forgery: 4:07 p.m., 8800 block of 113th Place Northeast. The reporting party said a mail theft occurred at his residence previously and believes that someone attempted to open a credit card in his name. Victim thinks it might be related to the mail theft.
Disturbance: 6:27 p.m., Sixth block of Market Street. Someone called to report a dog that was barking non-stop in a nearby residence. The dog did not appear to be in distress.
Warrant arrest: 5:30 p.m., 11800 block of 98th Ave. N.E. A 43-year-old homeless man was arrested for his Kirkland misdemeanor warrant.
Warrant arrest: 11:56 p.m., 12400 block of Totem Lake Boulevard Northeast. A 53-year-old Kirkland man was arrested on his King County Sheriff's Office warrants for assault and violation of a no contact order. He was booked into King County Jail.
Minor, liquor violation: 2:30 a.m., 800 block of Lake Street South. A 15-year-old girl was arrested for minor in possession after she was observed leaving the area of Lake Street South and throwing a 24 ounce can of Steel Reserve in the bushes. She was transported back home to her parents.
Warrant arrest: 12:22 a.m., 12400 block of Totem Lake Boulevard Northeast. A 43-year-old Longview, Wash. man was arrested in Kirkland on Kitsap County warrants.
Suspicious event: 10:36 a.m., 11600 block of 132nd Avenue Northeast. Reporting party said she observed a man take a large piece of equipment from a construction site. She said the subject just walked across the parking lot, got into the piece of equipment with four large earth tires and drove northbound. She said the subject was not wearing any construction gear, and there were no other construction workers present. Upon contact, the subject said he was authorized to take the equipment.
Disturbance: 3:05 a.m., 11800 block of 93rd Lane Northeast. Reporting party said there was a group of people going in and out of the Village at Juanita Beach apartments swearing and being very loud.
Suspicious event: 3:59 a.m., 1200 block of Northeast 128th Street. Reporting party said that hospital security was dealing with an uncooperative man in the emergency room. Subject had no weapons.
Assault: 1:30 a.m., 200 block of Central Way. A 26-year-old Renton man was arrested for fourth degree assault after he punched a 22-year-old Sammamish man three times in the face, causing minor injury to his face.
