Boy assaults parents; bank account fraud: Police Blotter for Jan. 27 - Feb. 2

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 800 per week.

Between Jan. 27 and Feb. 2, the Kirkland Police Department reported 455 traffic violations (two DUIs), 14 alarm calls, 18 car accidents, seven noise complaints, 11 thefts, 12 car prowls, four domestic violence calls, 11 acts of fraud, 16 calls of a disturbance, two robberies, three burglaries and six calls of harassment. At least 30 people were arrested.

Feb. 2

Domestic: 1:10 p.m., 12000 block of Slater Ave. N.E. A woman was locked outside her residence by her brother and the loud disturbance that ensued led to neighbors calling police.

Jan. 31

Warrant arrest: 3:15 a.m., 4300 Lake Washington Boulevard N.E. A 24-year-old Kirkland man was arrested on an outside agency's warrant for DUI.

Theft: 1:48 p.m., 8629 120th Ave. N.E. A 20-year-old man was arrested at Costco for third degree theft, drug paraphernalia and fourth degree assault.

Assault: 2 p.m., location not listed. A 16-year-old male assaulted his parents over discipline issues and had to be held down until police arrived. The boy was arrested for fourth degree assault domestic violence. The father suffered punches to the face and body, with minor redness. The boy did not have any complaints of injury.

Jan. 30

Warrant arrest: 6:48 p.m., 300 Kirkland Ave. An 18-year-old homeless man was arrested on a felony malicious mischief warrant out of Everett.

Jan. 29

Traffic offense: 2:58 p.m., 13500 N.E. 80th Street. A 36-year-old Burien man was stopped for a traffic violation and found to be without identification.

Warrant arrest: 4:52 p.m., 8500 132nd Ave. N.E. A man called 911 to report that he had been assaulted. After speaking with both subjects and witnesses, it was determined that both men were to blame for the altercation and they both could be arrested for assault. Neither subject chose to press charges and the reporting party was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Everett for driving with a suspended license.

Jan. 27

Burglary: 4500 block of 108th Ave. N.E. A vacant home that is up for sale had three appliances stolen. No forced entry in the house was detected.

Car prowl: 12:30 p.m., 500 Central Way. A car was entered unlawfully when it was left unlocked and unattended in a secured parking garage. Stolen items include two pairs of women's jeans, two pairs of women's boots, a golf club set, a black travel bag and a computer hard drive.

Theft: 7 a.m., 10600 126th Ave. N.E. The victim had an E-check sent using her checking account number to a Walmart out of state.
