Barbara Jean Plath Abdon of Bellevue died June 15 at Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland. She was 60.

Abdon was born and raised in the Salt Lake Valley, shadowed by the beautiful Wasatch range. She loved camping and exploring the High Uintah Mountains with her family and friends. She traveled the world over and made even more friends in many lands on distant shores. She was an extraordinary artist, loving fiber and fabric, and drawing and painting, clay and jewelry. But, she loved her family and friends more than all else in life and showed that love with constant good humor, endless housework, all accomplished with that same artistic touch. An excellent photographer and videographer, Abdon left thousands of wonderful images of the many people she loved so dearly.

She is survived by her husband, John Abdon; mother, Ellen Wholey and father, Harry Otto Plath; sister, Shirley Plath; and children: Forest, Nathanael, Emily, Mckenzie, Tyler, Tobias, Tucker, Hannah, and Logan.

Friends are invited to view photos, share memories and sign the family’s on-line guest book at www.flintofts.com. Arrangements are entrusted to Flintoft’s Funeral Home and Crematory.
