Vying for Kirkland City Council position No. 1 against incumbent Joan McBride, candidate Martin Morgan said he would bring a fresh eye and new voice to the community, if elected.
The 30-year Kirkland resident, who volunteers at his children's schools and in youth sports as an umpire, coach and Pony Baseball Commissioner, says working in the Kirkland community is important to him.
Morgan also worked on the Neighborhood Comprehensive Plan and the 85th Street Corridor.
He said in a statement that he plans to be part of the annexation process, though he didn't state his position. Morgan also added that he is "committed to open, transparent government with easy access for all."
He and wife, Sharon, have been married for 21 years and have two children, Cameron 19 and Mackenzie 15.
