Construction to disrupt major thoroughfare
May 21, 2009 · 4:19 PM
Construction has begun on new sidewalks and enhancements along the east side of 100th Ave. N.E. and 99th Place N.E. between N.E. 116th Street and N.E. 112th St in Kirkland. The work will take place between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for the next three months and will impact traffic and parking on these road ways.
The work is aimed at creating pedestrian access to A.G. Bell Elementary and the Juanita Village shopping center. The work will create more than 1,300 feet of new sidewalk, curb, gutter and a landscape strip.
The project is funded by the City’s Capital Improvement Plan, City’s Neighborhood Connection Program and a State Transportation Improvement Board grant.
