Kirkland City Council recently approved a plan to relocate the popular Kirkland Wednesday Market to the Marina Park Pavilion.

Construction for the city’s new transit center and the reconstruction of a county sewer pump on Third Avenue -- beginning Sept. 20 -- required the move from the market’s old location on Park Lane, between Main Street and Third Avenue. The market could stay there for up to four years. In November, City Council swapped out Heritage Hall as a potential site for the market and dropped the municipal parking lot at Lake and Central, citing parking concerns.

The Wednesday Market returns to Kirkland on May 6.
