Kirkland firefighters collect $10,000
September 2, 2008 · Updated 10:50 AM
Kirkland firefighters hit the streets in full force recently to collect $10,000 in donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
About 20 firefighters took shifts along Lake Street and Kirkland Avenue for Kirkland Fire Department’s annual “Fill the Boot” campaign.
All of the money collected went directly to helping local kids and adults living with Muscular Dystrophy. The money raised goes towards the treatment, research, equipment and summer camp for the kids. Firefighters were out on their own time to make it happen for these kids.
Those who missed the Fire Fighters can call the MDA office in Bellevue at 425-283-0730.
