The 520 Tolling Implementation Committee is hosting a series of open house events for the public over the next eight days, with the final meeting scheduled for Aug. 7 at the Kirkland Performance Center.

The open houses are designed to provide information on, and gather resident input about, tolling as a means to help pay for a new State Route 520 bridge across Lake Washington.

Recent hearings revealed the committee is considering one-way tolls of up to $3.80. The committee members, State Transportation Secretary Paula Hammond, Puget Sound Region Council Director Bob Drewel and State Transportation Commissioner Dick Ford, will discuss four tolling options.

The meetings are open to the public and are all from 5-7:30 p.m. The next meeting is tomorrow, July 31, at the Spirit of Washington Events Center in Renton.

The other meetings are Aug. 5 at the Naval Reserve in Seattle and Aug. 6 at Bellevue City Hall.
