Police Blotter

Between Wednesday, July 9, and Tuesday, July 15, the Kirkland Police Department reported 314 traffic violations, 29 alarm calls, 27 thefts, 27 noise complaints, 24 assaults (14 domestic violence), 19 car accidents, 16 burglaries, and 16 vehicle prowls. At least 51 people were arrested.

Wednesday, July 9

1:10 a.m. Police arrested a 39-year-old Bothell man for motor vehicle theft on the 10000 block of N.E. 123rd Street. The damage and stolen property was estimated at $2,140.

Saturday, July 12

3:45 a.m. A false alarm on the 200 block of Kirkland Avenue led to the arrest of five adult minors and a juvenile for liquor violations and obstruction. The hotel sustained considerable damage and closed the entire floor for cleaning. The incident remains under investigation.

Monday, July 14

5:53 p.m. A suspected bomb was seen in a bush near a parking lot on the 9700 block of N.E. Juanita Drive. The device was later determined to be a mosquito trap set by King County to monitor the occurrence of West Nile Virus.
