The city is hosting a community open house to review the design for a new Kirkland transit center on Third Street between Central Way and Kirkland Avenue on Wednesday, July 23, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at City Hall.

Presented by Sound Transit, the open house will provide information on the project and the most recent design plans for a structure scheduled to replace the current 22-year-old facility. Project staff will answer questions and listen to comments about the project.

New features of the center include: new waiting areas, enhanced pedestrian crossings, bicycle amenities and new signal, intersection and traffic circulation improvements.

Sound Transit is coordinating the transit project with the new library expansion and King County’s sewer pump station and pipeline upgrade nearby.
