Today, U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) made good on a friendly wager with U.S. Senators Patty Murray (D-WA) and Maria Cantwell (D-WA) after the Seattle Seahawks defeated the New Orleans Saints 23-15 in the NFL Divisional Round Playoffs on Jan. 11.

Senator Landrieu graciously treated the Senators to charbroiled oysters and Abita beer. All agreed it was an excellent game with Senator Landrieu quipping, “You all might have been victorious on the field, but you cannot beat us in the kitchen I don’t believe.” While Senator Murray would agree the spoils were quite tasty, she still maintains the superiority of Pacific Northwest cuisine.
