Kirkland car accident leaves one critically injured on Juanita Drive

A car occupied by five young women hit another vehicle in the Finn Hill neighborhood Saturday evening.

The accident, located at the intersection of Juanita Drive Northeast and Northeast 138th Place, left one woman in critical condition and others with minor injuries, a fireĀ  department official said.

Medics took the woman driving the second vehicle to Harborview Medical Center for serious injuries and the five women went to EvergreenHealth Medical Center for the non-life threatening injuries.

The vehicle sustained impact to the side.

"Nobody said anything about alcohol," said Kirkland Fire Department Battalion Chief Mike Jeffery when asked if alcohol was a factor.

Roads were closed for about 45 minutes to an hour after the accident but are now open.
