Seahawks placekicker Steve Hauschka will be a "guest barista" today at a downtown Kirkland Starbucks to promote the development of young leaders.

Coach Pete Carroll and a select group of Seahawks players will act as guest baristas at seven other Starbucks in western Washington.

The appearance at the Kirkland location will take place between 3-4 p.m. Wednesday at the 116 Lake Street Starbucks. Other locations include Bellevue, Renton and four Seattle Starbucks.

The event is part of a one-week campaign with Starbucks to raise funds to help develop young leaders in partnership with Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll’s A Better Seattle campaign.

The Starbucks Foundation will make an initial grant of $50,000 to kick-off the campaign.

Fans and Starbucks customers can donate online at abetterseattle.com or at participating western Washington Starbucks today through Tuesday, Oct. 29.

Donations will fund the ongoing efforts of street outreach workers in six cities, including Seattle, Renton, Kent, Tukwila, Auburn and SeaTac.
