Man arrested on felony warrant, spotted picking flowers while high | Kirkland Police Blotter
The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 1,000 per week.
Between 13-19, the Kirkland Police Department reported 448 traffic violations, seven DUIs, 13 school zone traffic violations, one animal call, 43 alarm calls, 25 noise complaints, two juvenile crimes, 14 calls of disturbance, 17 thefts, three car prowls, four car thefts, 28 traffic accidents, 13 calls of civil disturbance, four reported burglaries, 14 domestic violence calls, seven calls for harassment, one report of illegal drugs, two alleged assaults, three acts of fraud, four malicious mischief reports, one rape and eight suicide calls. At least 31 people were arrested.
Assault: 5:06 p.m., 12200 block of NE 130th Way. A 30-year-old man was taken into custody after he allegedly peered into a 28-year-old woman’s car at her 5-year-old daughter. The woman said she confronted him but he got within a foot of the woman and “postured as if he was going to hit her” and said “what are you going to do about it?” When police asked why he did that, he said “because I like to fight.”
Warrant: 5:11 p.m., 12300 block of NE 150th Court. A 26-year-old man was arrested on several Kirkland Police Department warrants. It appears The Game Bar and Grill was also a party involved in the case.
Warrant: 12:08 a.m., 200 block of Parkplace Center. A 27-year-old was arrested on two outstanding misdemeanor warrants from Redmond and Bellevue.
Hit-and-run: 11:45 p.m., 11100 block of NE 65th St. A 19-year-old man was arrested after he hit a tree with his vehicle and did not contact the property owner.
Warrant: 5:13 p.m., 4900 block of 112th Ave. NE. A 33-year-old man was arrested after he was observed picking flowers on a private property and walking down the middle of the road. Police said he appeared to be high on drugs and had a felony department of corrections community custody warrant out for his arrest.
Minor in possession: 7:17 p.m., 200 block of Market St. A 16-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man were cited for minor in consumption of alcohol. The girl provided a preliminary breath test of .114 and the man provided a .205. As the officer was transporting the girl home, she became unresponsive and was admitted to EvergreenHealth Medical Center. Doctors said she may have been on drugs as well.
Disorderly conduct: 8:14 p.m., 200 block of Third St. A 20-year-old man was arrested for attempting to start a fight with the father of a child playing at the Peter Kirk playground. He appeared to be highly intoxicated and was booked for a minor in possession, disorderly conduct and trespassing.
Domestic violence: 7:30 p.m., 9700 block of 128th Ave. NE A 61-year-old man was arrested for assaulting his 54-year-old wife and 18-year-old son.
Theft: 2 p.m., 12400 block of 128th Lane NE. A 41-year-old man was arrested after he was witnessed driving away from Les Schwab with 18 stolen tires. He admitted to police that he took tires that were laying around a storage container.
Domestic violence: 1:30 p.m., 14000 block of 110th Ave. NE. A 63-year-old woman said she got into an argument with her son who was addicted to pills. She said her son has stolen money from her the past few months and he damaged her safe. She did not press charges.
Theft: 2:55 p.m., 200 block of Parkplace Center. A 33-year-old man was taken into custody after he was caught stealing a bottle of Jack Daniels Bourbon from QFC.
