Public forum on Parkplace IS tomorrow

The Kirkland Planning Commission will host its second public forum to discuss a proposal for Kirkland Parkplace redevelopment at 7 p.m., June 26, at the Kirkland City Hall Council Chambers.

The first public hearing on June 12 drew about 250 audience members and 50 speakers.

The forum will include discussion on three plans floated for the project: A primary mixed-use plan with buildings up to eight stories; an “office park” plan with five story buildings; and a third compromise plan offered by the Commission itself that would raise some buildings to 11 stories while reducing height elsewhere.
