Back to school at Helen Keller Elementary
September 6, 2012 · Updated 2:56 PM
On Sept. 4 Helen Keller Elementary had a grand opening for the rebuilt school. Students and their families explored the new classrooms, met their teachers and toured the library, gym, cafeteria, science and art room and more.
Helen Keller Elementary is one of three elementary schools that was rebuilt from a 2006 modernization bond. Grade reconfiguration took effect this year with elementary: K-5, middle school: 6-8 and high school: 9-12.
The grand opening for the other elementary schools, Muir Elementary and Sandburg Elementary, will be at later dates.
