Kirkland doctor Keith Hardy died Friday while skiing on Mount Baker.
Hardy, who had just summited the mountain with friends, accidentally went over a cliff at the 9,000-foot level and fell to his death.
Search and rescue were unable to initially reach where Hardy fell, thanks to inclement weather. The doctor, age 34, worked at Evergreen Sport and Spine Center in Kirkland and also practiced at Northwest Spine and Sports Physicians in Bellevue.
Hardy grew up in Bellevue and was an avid sports enthusiast. He served as the team doctor for the Sammamish High School football team and the University of Washington mens' lacrosse team. He also served as team doctor for Woodinville High School and the Seattle Sounders womens' team.
Hardy was a graduate of the University of Michigan.
