Expect traffic delays during Kirkland Half Marathon on Sunday

Commuters should expect traffic delays due to the Kirkland Half Marathon and Mother’s Day 5K event to be held on Sunday, May 13.

Juanita Drive NE between 93rd Avenue NE and 98th Avenue NE, and 97th Avenue NE between Juanita Drive NE and NE 120th Street will be closed from 6 a.m. until approximately 12 p.m.

Route impacts will include lane closures and/or delays from approximately 7 a.m. until the final athlete finishes at 11 a.m. Route information can be found at www.kirklandwa.gov/specialevents.

The Kirkland Half Marathon hosts 2,500 athletes during the event, which includes a Kids Dash, 5K run/walk and Half Marathon run/walk. Event website information may be accessed at www.explorekirkland.com, click on “events.”
