Post Office to change Bothell annexation addresses to Kirkland

The annexation of Finn Hill, North Juanita, and Kingsgate into the City of Kirkland takes effect on June 1, 2011. Residents who have a Bothell or Woodinville address will be notified by the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) of an address change to Kirkland, WA 98034.

According to the USPS, any city, state and ZIP code changes are implemented every July 1. For this annexation, USPS advises it will make this change to Kirkland, WA 98034 to become effective July 1, 2011. Affected residents are asked not to file a change of address with the postal service unless residents are moving to a different home or building. A change of address is not necessary when a new address is assigned to your existing home or building.

The USPS further advises that for annexation residents, it will provide for the forwarding of your mail up to 12 months following the July 1 city and ZIP code change. After 12 months the postal service will return your mail to sender with an endorsement that will include your new mailing address for another six months.
