The driver who smashed a car into a tree after swerving across traffic Friday evening has fled on foot, according to police on scene.

Kirkland Police are searching for the driver who drove west along N.E. 132nd St. near 124th Ave. N.E. when the car lost control and swerved left across traffic. The car knocked out a traffic sign before hitting a tree head on.

No injuries have been reported.
