City of Kirkland finalizes purchase of My Home Wholesale site

The sale of the My Home Wholesale building to the City of Kirkland was made official last week for the cost of $10.5 million. The city plans to use the real estate for a new public-safety building to keep up with the demands of annexation.
The building is located at 11831 120th Avenue N.E. in the Totem Lake neighborhood behind the Fred Meyer was purchased from Dayhu Investments of Vancouver, B.C.
The city plans to renovate the 103,000-square-foot building and open it in 2013.
My Home Wholesale management has stated that the business will remain open and plans to rent the space from the city until renovation plans have been completed. The business then plans to move to another location in Kirkland and remain open.
