Kirkland Arts Commission seeks grant applications to promote arts, culture, heritage

The Kirkland Cultural Arts Commission seeks innovative and creative ideas that showcase Kirkland’s arts, culture, and heritage.

Artists and arts organizations who have a unique proposal that promotes performance art, literary art and other artistic ventures can apply for funding available through the Commission.

With the opening of the Cross Kirkland Corridor interim trail in fall 2014, the Cultural Arts Commission will give special interest to programs that activate the Corridor with artistic programing.

Proposals are due by 4 p.m. on May 16, 2014. Proposed activities must occur within Kirkland city limits and occur before December 15, 2014. The grant application form is available online at www.kirklandwa.gov or by contacting Philly Hoshko at phoshko@kirklandwa.gov or 425-587-3013.

The Commission has up to $5,000 available in funding. The Commission will consider all proposals and make determinations at its May 21, 2014 meeting to be held at Kirkland City Hall, 123 5th Avenue, Rose Hill Room, 4-6 p.m.
