Studio East, StoryBook Theater present holiday performances

The theater groups will present “‘Twas the Night” and “The Elves & the Toymakers.”

Studio East and StoryBook Theater bring the spirit of the holiday season to life with favorites, “‘Twas the Night” and “The Elves & the Toymakers.”

The two musicals are for all ages.

Now in its 17th run at Studio East, “‘Twas the Night” is the holiday poem with a spin with reindeer dressed like chorus girls, singing mice and a troupe of Victorian carolers. There will also be an audience sing-a-long and Santa Claus himself makes an appearance.

“‘Twas the Night” is recommended for ages 4 and older and has a running time of 90 minutes, plus an intermission. All tickets are $20 and can be purchased at www.studio-east.org. All performances are at the Studio East Mainstage Theater at 11730 118th Ave. N.E. in Kirkland. Performances run from Nov. 25 to Dec. 17, Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

StoryBook Theater continues its holiday tradition with “The Elves & the Toymakers,” a musical about the spirit of giving. It’s the holiday season and the toymakers have been working hard to get toys ready to give to boys and girls everywhere. But the morning they are to be delivered, the toymakers discover all the toys have disappeared. Can two spunky Elves save the day?

This musical will also continue another StoryBook tradition, a toy drive for Hopelink. Audience members can bring a new, unwrapped toy and participate in the toy parade on stage during the show.

“The Elves & the Toymakers” is recommended for ages 3 and older and has a running time of 55 minutes. Tickets are $18 (including service fees) and can be purchased at www.storybooktheater.org or (425) 820-1800.

Performances will be at the Kirkland Performance Center, 350 Kirkland Ave., and tickets can also be purchased at kpcenter.org or (425) 893-9900.

Performances will be at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Dec. 10, 16-17 and 19.

The Dec. 10 shows are ASL interpreted.
