On Feb. 16, four students from Finn Hill Middle School performed at the Washington Music Educators Association convention at Clark College in Vancouver, Washington.

The students — Grant Jones on trombone, Liam Shalom on oboe, Kelsey Sun on violin and Audrey Lloyd an alto voice — auditioned with hundreds of students from across the state to earn a position in these elite groups, according to a press release.

Their teachers are Inger Kirkman for choir, Ron Maier for band and Kim Merkley for orchestra. All three are very proud of the students, according to the release.
