Vote for the LWSD bond | Letter

As a student, I see the effect of overcrowding at my school every day. It is often difficult to move through the hallways or get to class on time because there are many more students than our building can accommodate. There are not enough bathrooms on campus; I have never visited the restroom without waiting in line. The school uses a number of portables, which are not meant to be permanent classrooms. Some of the portables are over 29 years old — they are cold in the winter and blistering hot in the fall and spring.

Our school district has grown from sixth to fourth largest this year alone, and more kids are coming every year. Please help us relieve overcrowding by passing the bond. It seems like an obvious choice for voters as the bond helps students, but doesn’t raise the tax rate.

If I were old enough to vote, I would invest in reducing overcrowding and giving kids the best opportunities to learn.
