Kirkland church offers free screening of documentary American Winter

The Northlake Unitarian Universalist Church in Kirkland will be screening the documentary American Winter at 7 p.m. on Jan. 17.

The documentary feature film follows the personal stories of eight families struggling in the wake of the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. The film presents an intimate snapshot of the state of the economy as it is playing out in the lives of American families, and highlights the human impact of budget cuts to social services, a shrinking middle class and the fracturing of the American Dream.

The event is free to the public but donations are accepted. The church is located at 308 4th Ave. S. in Kirkland.
