Briana Martinez earns Western Washington University scholarship

Western Washington University student Briana Martinez, daughter of Robert and Francis Martinez of Kirkland, received a $1,500 Woodring Elementary Education Scholarship for the 2009-2010 academic year.

The Woodring Elementary Education Scholarship is awarded to a student in any Woodring College Elementary Education program.

Martinez, a senior at WWU, has earned a 3.9 GPA and was named to the President’s List in four quarters in 2007, 2008 and 2009. She is majoring in Environmental Studies and is planning to graduate this spring. Martinez teaches 100-level volleyball and is a member of the Students for Educational Equality Club.
