The Rotary Club of Kirkland, together with many other groups of citizens, participated in the Green Kirkland Partnership’s cleanup and restoration effort at Juanita Bay Park on April 24.

The Green Kirkland Partnership is an alliance between the City of Kirkland, nonprofit partners and the community to restore natural areas in the city. A number of Kirkland parks are slated for this effort in 2010, which consists of removing invasive, non-native plants, such as blackberries and ivy, and replacing them with native species.

Kirkland Rotary’s participation is part of an organization-wide effort to spend at least one day giving back to local and regional communities. The Rotary Club of Kirkland meets at 6 p.m. Mondays at the Woodmark Hotel.
