Over the years, Kamiakin’s Wind Ensemble has performed at the University of Washington, Oregon State University, the University of Victoria, and will now perform for professional adjudicators at George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon on May 5.

The band, comprised of the school’s finest instrumentalists, has been working on three selections to showcase their skill level. The performance will be judged by Oregon-based adjudicators who will not only listen critically but will also record verbal remarks and write comments on all facets of the band’s literature, poise, professionalism, technical facility, musicality and overall musicianship.

After playing on stage, the band will attend a clinic given by one of the judges where specific aspects of the performance will be addressed. Besides the band’s time at George Fox University, they will also spend time at the Oregon Zoo and Lloyd Center where they can enjoy one of Oregon’s largest shopping malls.

Kamiakin’s bands and their director, Ward Brannman, wish to thank the band parents and community for their financial support and recent donations of metronomes and electronic tuners.
