Hopelink seeks literacy volunteers
September 1, 2008 · Updated 4:00 PM
Hopelink’s Eastside Literacy and other programs need volunteers to help adults learn to read or earn a General Education Development (GED) diploma, assist non-native English speakers to improve their English and provide help to achieve many other tasks.
Training for all volunteer positions is provided. Hopelink is planning volunteer orientation meetings on Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Hopelink’s Adult Education Department office in Bellevue.
Additionally, Hopelink’s Kirkland center needs volunteers to work in the food bank receiving and sorting food donations; distributing food to clients; delivering food to home-bound clients; and packing home delivery bags; and maintain the planting areas around the center
Eastside Literacy, a program of Hopelink, offers free literacy instruction to adults throughout north and east King County.
