Hague to host âLiving Greenâ town hall
May 1, 2008 · Updated 12:19 PM
District 6 Metropolitan King County Councilwoman Jane Hague will host a community town hall May 10 from 10 a.m. to noon at Bellevue City Hall to âhelp remove the mystery behind (green) terms and to present practical, everyday ideas for protecting the environment,â according to a news release.
âHelping the environment can be as simple as bringing reusable bags with you to the grocery store,â said Hague, who represents Kirkland on the Council and is chair of the Councilâs Parks and Utilities Committee. âThe Town Hall is an opportunity to see common-sense examples of what we can do as individuals and communities to protect the environment for now and for future generations.â
Recognized leaders in the areas of green building, energy recycling, transportation and yard care will give presentations at the meeting. Guest speakers, including Bellevue Mayor Grant Degginger and Washington State Lands Commissioner Doug Sutherland, will discuss climate change efforts by local governments.
