The Houghton Community Council is accepting applications for an appointment to Pos. 7 that will be vacated by a resignation. The term of Pos. 7 ends on certification of the 2013 general election.
The HCC consists of seven members elected every four years from the former Town of Houghton, which joined Kirkland in August 1968. This body exercises both advisory and approval authority over most matters related to zoning regulations and land use within the Houghton area.

Completed applications must be submitted to the City Clerk prior to 4 p.m. Aug. 16 and are available at www.kirklandwa.gov, at the City Hall information Desk, 123 Fifth Avenue, or by calling (425) 587-3190. Interviews are tentatively scheduled the evening of Aug. 27. Appointment to this vacancy will be made by the HCC.
