Kirkland Cub Scout pack 595 recently visited the Kirkland Reporter offices to learn more about the newspaper industry.

The group spoke with Editor Carrie Wood, who shared how the newspaper is put together, from reporting on the news, to copy editing and page layout.

The scouts also learned why local news is important to the Kirkland community.
