Sleep Country USA collects over 56,000 school supply items for foster kids
September 26, 2011 · 5:37 PM
As the new school year kicks off, Seattle-based Sleep Country USA collected over 56,000 school supply items for area foster children this year.
Thanks to community donations at Sleep Country stores throughout Oregon and Washington, a partnership with Wild Waves Theme Park to collect items for discount admission at two Wild Waves Days for foster families this summer, and local businesses such as Regence of Tacoma and Burlington that hosted their own collection drives, this was Sleep Country’s most successful school supply drive yet.
Sleep Country distributed the items among its foster children organization partners throughout the region.
The Sleep Country Coat Drive runs through Oct. 30. Donations of new coats can be made at any Sleep Country USA location, including 12558 Totem Lake Boulevard in Kirkland.
