Kirkland resident Rebecca Penn has joined the Kirkland-based law firm Livengood Alskog as an associate attorney.

Penn is originally from Olympia and graduated from the University of Washington and Seattle University School of Law. She works primarily in the firm’s healthcare, public school, general business and litigation practices.

“We found that our clients’ needs had expanded and so our firm also needed attorneys to meet the increased needs,” said Livengood Alskog managing partner David Johnston. “After a search, we found a high-quality associate, whose commitment to the practice of law, while balancing quality of life, matches our firm culture. We are very glad that Rebecca agreed to join us.”

Rebecca Penn has eight years of experience, most recently with a healthcare and business insurance defense firm in Seattle where she was primarily a litigator. Before practicing in Seattle, she worked in California and Pennsylvania where her physician husband was undergoing his medical training.

In California she represented large commercial insurers in first and third party coverage matters, bad faith claims and construction defect litigation.

In Pennsylvania, she had a varied practice which included the representation of a large energy company in breach of contract and premises liability cases, healthcare providers in medical negligence cases and property owners in land use issues

Penn lives with her husband, who is a private practice orthopaedic surgeon, and their young son
