Kirkland has just taken an exciting first step on a community-wide effort to promote doing business locally. Kirkland First is a free online business directory of Kirkland-based businesses created to make it easier for consumers to think of Kirkland first when purchasing a product or service.

The Kirkland First Web site, www.kirklandfirst.org, was designed and created through the collaboration of the City, local business owners, journalists, arts and civic organizations. The official launch to educate businesses about the advantage of the online directory will take place at Kirkland’s Parkplace Books, from 6-8 p.m. June 10. Local businesses are invited to learn more about the program.
