Three Kirkland Auto Shops Earn AAA Awards

AAA Washington announced April 21 three Kirkland auto repair shops were selected for AAA Top Shop award.

Jay’s Kirkland Autocare, Juanita Auto Service, Kirkland Transmission and Price Brothers Garage, all located in Kirkland, have been recognized as AAA Top Shops.

"We just don't allow people to leave here unhappy," said Jay Henwood, owner of Jay's Kirkland Autocare. "They're happy to have people thay can trust."

The honors are given based on the quality of repair work, courtesy of employees, and the shop cleanliness of each AAA Approved Auto Repair facility in Washington and northern Idaho. Out of over 350 shops in that region, only 70 were given the Top Shops recognition in 2009. Altogether, there are five AAA recognized auto body and repair shops in Kirkland.

All shops are evaluated based on customer satisfaction surveys and feedback and the “best of the best” earn a AAA Top Shop Award. Past winners typically received customer satisfaction rates close to 100% during the last calendar year.

"Jay's just a great shop to work with," said Washington AAA spokeswoman Jennifer Cook.

"Quality employees, great customer service. That's why they're a top shop."

Eligibility is based on meeting requirements set by the standards needed to be part of the AAA Approved Auto Repair network. According to the AAA, all Approved Auto Repair facilities:

* Meet or exceed AAA exacting standards regarding equipment and certified technicians, and have an excellent track record of customer satisfaction.

* Guarantee service or repairs for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first.

* Must offer a written estimate; if requested in advance, return replaced parts; and obtain approval before doing any work beyond the original estimate.

* Provide complimentary vehicle inspections to AAA members when having other services performed.

* Agree to let AAA arbitrate any disputes regarding quality of service or repairs.

Jay’s Kirkland Autocare is located at 817 7th Avenue, Juanita Auto Service is at 1120 Eighth Street and Kirkland Transmission and Price Brothers Garage is at 12235 NE 116th Street.
