Kirkland City Councilwoman Penny Sweet was on hand with Greater Kirkland Chamber of Commerce members to celebrate the grand opening of Crush Footwear on Wednesday.

The new business is located at 339 Kirkland Ave. in downtown Kirkland.

Store owners Rhonda Herbert and Neal Hughes has also operated an online site since 2010. The success of their e-commerce site, along with Herbert’s passion for shoes, fueled a desire to open their own storefront.
